Syrian military states SDF located in Aleppo are “legitimate targets”

(MENAFN) The Syrian army on Wednesday labeled military positions of the PKK/YPG-affiliated forces operating under the SDF in Aleppo’s Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods as “legitimate targets,” citing the group’s recent escalation and alleged “massacres” in the province.

The announcement came as the SDF resumed shelling residential areas in Aleppo for a second consecutive morning, following attacks on Tuesday that reportedly killed at least five people and injured 16 others.

The army’s Operations Authority declared that the two neighborhoods would be treated as closed military zones starting at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT). Authorities urged civilians to avoid SDF positions and imposed a complete restriction on movement within these areas after that time.
